Many are afraid when they see the conflict between North Korea and the rest of the world. They worry about their weapons and if they are hostile. Others worry that UN will start a war based on claims that some countries are victims, like the US, even when they haven’t been attacked yet. It’s a serious matter if one should be allowed to start wars based on what someone else might do, rather than what they actually do.
But no matter how the conflict between North Korea, US and UN is seen, it’s important to understand that God might allow this conflict for a reason.
Is North Korea relevant when it comes to the preparation for Christ second coming? The answer has to be yes. According to Jesus a certain thing has to take place before He comes:
«And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.» (Matt.24:14)
As most people know there is a great challenge contained in this quote. While one part of the world may be reached, another generation might grow up somewhere else not having received the message that their forefathers received. It’s clear that in order for the world to be warned and prepared for Christ second coming, all the world needs to be reached easily over a short period of time.
God helped men invent the printing press so that the bible could be copied and spread, and in that way enlighten Europe, and later the hole world. God has also given the world the internet, so that homes all over the world can receive the last great warning. However, in both cases the inventions are abused to further the agenda of those who follow God’s enemies. When the printing press was becoming more normal, not only Bibles were printed, but all sorts of degrading and hateful material were also printed. It is the same with the internet, it has become ‘a tree of knowledge of good and evil’ in the way that it offers the outer reaches of both worlds, good and bad. It’s also resembles Babel in the way that there are so many claiming to represent the truth, and they are all giving many different interpretations of the scripture. Which makes the word babel fit well, since the word itself means confusion. The evil that is found online is rapidly changing man into something more corrupt then he ever was, because access to bad material and distorted friendships are only the click of a button away. Do you remember when God decided to destroy earth by a flood? God didn’t just say they acted out all their evil, but: “that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Gen.6:5). This fits so well with society today where people, even those who seemingly live calm lives, partake in trafficking and violence by supporting a corrupt industry where sex and violence is glorified. A study estimates that an average American child will see 200 000 violent acts and 16,000 murders on TV by the age of 18. (http://www.med.umich.edu/yourchild/topics/tv.htm)
There might also be similar numbers from the rest of the western world, and maybe also many other countries. Grown-ups watch even more, including adultery and blasphemy. Our time and the time of Noah can easily be compared: “that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” The public at the Colosseum in Rome is nothing compared to man’s enjoyment of violence and sexual violence today. So the internet is an opportunity to reach the world, but will at the same time also destroy those who refuse to be lead by the spirit.
God will only allow this for as long is absolutely necessary, so that all those that seek the truth have the possibility to reach out and to find it, by the leading of His Spirit. «But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. » (Joh.15:26-27)
Without the guidance of the Spirit, no man will be able to distinguish truth from error, it’s that complicated.
Although not everyone has access to internet all over the world, large groups have in most countries. These again have the opportunity to reach out to the groups in their countries which don’t have access, by using Christian literature or testimonies. In this way the entire world can easily be reached in a short amount of time. But as it is in the case of North Korea, the World Wide Web is only accessible to a small group of people, and only under government restrictions. According to Wikipedia as of late 2014 there were only 1024 IP addresses in the country. Most individual institutions only have access to a domestic-only network.
Documentaries have been made by visitors who had their visits restricted and monitored. The people that was interviewed proved to be very ignorant of what was happening in the world, and even how the world generally view their own nation. They have been very misinformed, and the honour they give their leader has almost taken the form of worship. No missionary can easily enter or share the ‘good news’. While it is not impossible, it’s a very difficult process.
When the Ten Commandments and the blood of Jesus are to be shown to the entire world, it includes the citizens of North Korea. God wants as many of the North Koreans as possible in His kingdom, because He loves them very dearly. Among these, are people that despite having been unaware of the gospel, still follow the leading of The Holy Spirit, and live a life full of compassion and love. But there are also sinful people who are longing to hear of God’s power to free them from their sins and from their shame. God loves all of these, and He will not allow them to be kept in the dark.
That means that God cannot allow a ruler to keep his population in ignorance, while the rest of the world will be enlightened by God’s testimony to the world. God needs to open the flow of information into North Korea, before He can show the law to them, and the rest of the world.
In Revelation 18 we are told: «And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.» (Rev.18:1). We know whom God wants to reach with the last warning and the last call for people to receive the gospel message: «And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people» (Rev.14:6) That includes North Korea.
How God will open the flow of information to North Korea I do not know. Perhaps the leaders must come under heavy pressure to be willing to open up their country. Perhaps it will happen by God allowing (by not stopping) a war. Perhaps the leader himself will have a turn of heart. But what can we do? We need to pray for North Korea and the people there. That the doors will be opened, so the gospel can come in. For Christ will not come back until they have been reached. So it is in the best interest of every believer to pray that it will be made possible to reach the North Koreans.
Other countries that have had big restrictions on the flow of information, are some Arabic countries, however the knowledge of the gospel does already have roots in these same countries, and there already exist access to certain parts of information on the topic.
Yet other countries that have had a limited flow of information is Vietnam, Laos and China. However we do know there are many book evangelizers in these countries, and they have a lot of knowledge of the gospel.North Korea seem to stand out right now as a country that is for the most part unreached.
Please help God prepare the way for the King. Pray, and do what you can for those who haven’t received the offer of salvation!
Remember God isn’t trying to make all countries a democracy, He just wants to give them the offer of salvation before it’s to late.
